Background

Kendall Henderson (b.1989, Colorado, USA) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Brooklyn New York. He holds a  BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design's Atlanta chapter (2012). His accolades to-date have been in the industry of applied arts and graphic design, and since realized a need to develop a personal practice leading to a  pursuit in new forms of artistic expression, institutionally or otherwise.

The nature of Kendall's work lies in the idea that there is a range of behaviors executed by humans based on perceptions during their experience with the physical world. I explore this through the assembly of insignificant objects that act as records left in the wake of these behaviors and interactions.

Each of work is an exercise of careful attention to the interrelation between various objects based on their proximity, value, recognizability, form, context, preconceived perception, and the ability to manipulate these factors in the form of mixed media assemblage. My assembly of artifacts is an attempt to coerce viewers to reset their cognitive understanding, implicating new questions about things overlooked, and inviting them to reconsider the concept of that thing along with its perception and significance.
